ONE BOOK THAT CHANGED YOUR LIFE
After reading Bruce the way I thought about the Bible could never really be the same again. It wasn’t just a pie in the sky spiritual book. It was the theologically-loaded history of God with people, transforming them, changing them, and leading them on the most amazing adventures of their lives. Many of which involved suffering for a new world to come but nevertheless present in his Son’s life, death, resurrection, and ascension.
ONE BOOK THAT YOU’VE READ MORE THAN ONCE
As a kid my mom read me this new age book every year for my bedtime story. Yes I know already what you’re going to suggest, not the best tradition to pass on to my kids – don’t worry not going to happen. Still its one of the most memoriable stories in my life and I still read it every year. I love my mom, in the midst of radical difference’s, not their absence…
ONE BOOK YOU’D WANT ON A DESERT ISLAND
Maybe I’m crazy but some time on a desert island with these prayers and devotions could do me a world of good. That’s one un-scheduled sabbatical rest I could diggggggggggg!
TWO BOOKS THAT MADE YOU LAUGH
Miller is a deconstructive wonder…as an outsider to the church and faith just 17 years ago Miller reminded me how many things we take for granted as normal in the church. Very funny, and thought provoking, and at times flawed…great read.
Not meant to be funny, but it made me laugh at our consumeristic habits. A very revealing read on the way we brand all things and some of the implications that branding carries with it…
ONE BOOK THAT MADE YOU CRY
To this day Sproul little work Chosen By God is still one of the most influential books in my life. Living in light of God’s sovereignty over me has been one of the most humbling and life-changing realities. It brought me tears and its led me into a life of broken, humbled service.
ONE BOOK YOU WISH HAD BEEN WRITTEN
How Seminaries Leave You Blowing In The Wind by Alumni. No seriously I don’t think its seminaries fault that many guys and girls that exit don’t find labor in ministry but I do think they could be doing a lot more than they are. The first six months catches a lot of people by surprise…not to mention month seven when loan bills kick into effect. A second title for the book could be Where did all the seminaries go in the 21st century? by Church Historians. Kidding…?
ONE BOOK YOU ARE CURRENTLY READING

My wife and I are moving through this book together right now. Its provided a lot of good conversations and times of prayer. We’ve enjoyed it and offer to others to consider how the Kingdom of God theology in the New Testament relates to the way Christians live today.
ONE BOOK YOU’VE BEEN MEANING TO READ
Bauckham is always a stirring and rewarding read. I’ve wanted to get his new collection of essays on John since I heard it was due out but haven’t had the time and money to do it.
