My beautiful wife and I turned one together this weekend. I surprised her with a trip to the big apple, the weather was beautiful and the city was a buzz as it always is. We spent some quality time remembering some of the more important lessons God has taught us during our first year of marriage on the train ride up to NYC. We feel so blessed by God to have experienced so much together already, from learning important lessons about ministering in our local church together during my internships at New Life Dresher this last year, to learning about how to develop and lead a major conference at Westminster on the Emerging Churches, to experiencing some wonderful journeys to California and Colorado, and to being prepared for children through the raising of and playing with our little puppy Kona we feel like God has given us so much to learn from each other and Him this year. Here are a few of our favorite pics and memories from the anniversary;

We stayed at the hip and modern Moderne Hotel right in Manhattan. The Moderne is one of several hip modern styled hotels owned by Amersterdam Hospitality Group, we’ve stayed at the past another one of their properties, the Bentley Hotel in the Upper East side of NYC.

We went out to lunch at Angelos right above the David Letterman Show’s sign where a lot of the hosts go for pizza and conversation before getting on the telly, and then in good New York fashion we went ice skating at Rockefeller Center. For our anniversary dinner we went to Jojo’s, a romantic restaurant in the Upper East Side under the guidance of chief Jean Georges.

On our last day in NYC we had a wonderful breakfast at the Eatery – Jess had the mango salsa sweet potato pancakes and I had the vanilla Ice cream chocolate and banana stuffed french toast – before rushing out to visit Time Square, Madison Ave, and of course Central Park where we got engaged more than a year earlier. It was a beautiful and fun time with my bride, for all the single guys out there, keep waiting upon the Lord for his provisions are greater than you can imagine or think…
