Here’s the link to the full article. I’m a Facebook Friend of Makoto Fujimura, today he posted a link to this article as one example of how to encourage creative catalysts in the local church. The term ‘creative catalyst’ is an example of what Mako says is an emerging THIRD LANGUAGE. A language not restricted to the church culture’s or to the skeptic culture’s. Listen in as Christy talks about Mako’s use of this term;

…Mako referred to a “Third Language.” Noting that there are many aspects of our contemporary cultural language that are relevant only in religious communities and others only in secular communities, and not in both simultaneously, Mako suggested that we need a Third Language relevant and intelligible to both communities.

Christy goes on to say that the local church can do three very helpful things to encourage the arts by being a ‘creative catalyst’: prayer for them, be a modern day Barnabas of encouragement to them, and lastly be hospitable to their needs. Go and read the whole piece for yourself…
