One of the things we do every Sunday morning with our college ministry is provide a small group setting where college students in community with others can explore biblical text with others. We don’t use study guides not because we’re opposed to the idea of them, but rather because its hard to find solid ones on the book we’re currently in (Revelation). It seems odd to say this but having a small group setting where believers can study scripture in community with others is becoming a dying model in consumer church trends today. A lot of people have sounded the alarm on the growing amount of biblical illiteracy in the West and rightfully so. When we stop studying scripture together we forfeit the story from which we’re meant to read our lives and our world.

What are some things you have done with bible studies that you find effective?
