The reason I went with the theme of displacement even though I realize the exile was a particular form of displacement is because lately I’ve been burdened by a fear I have that the evangelical conservative part of the church is beginning to get desensitized to displacement happening in the world today. With so many natural disasters around the world displacing hundreds of thousands of people I realize its easy to get overwhelmed and feel impotent in the face of such tragedies.
This sermon is aimed at helping everyone realize that we all encounter displacement in life. And helping the church, in particular, recapture her identity as a people who have been missionally displaced by God. Click here for the PDF version.
