Welcome to my blogsite! My name is Tony Stiff. I have a BA in Pastoral Studies and an MDiv in Urban Missions & Church Planting from Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia, PA. I’m presently undertaking a Doctor of Ministry degree at Western Theological Seminary in Holland, MI (I’m set to graduate in 2017). My doctorate is in the area of Spiritual Formation, specially exploring the value of Lesslie Newbigin’s spirituality for the Western Church .
I am blessed to be the husband of Jessica Stiff, and the father of Cali and Liam Stiff (see the picture above). I am an ordained pastor in the Evangelical Presbyerian Church. I presently serve as an Associate Pastor at Centerpoint Community Church, a 1200 person church that is over 130 years old located in the greater Sacramento area. In the past I have also served as an ordained pastor in the Presbyterian Church of America. I have over 18 years of ministry experience serving in sprawling metropolitan areas including Atlanta, Philadelphia, Tampa, and Sacramento. I have served as a Pastoral Intern, Director, and Associate Pastor in congregations as small as 200 and as large as 2500. Many of the congregations I have served have been in their first 20 years of life, but I have also served in congregations that are more than 130 years old. In each congregation, I have enjoyed having the opportunity to listen to, learn from, and lead alongside all generations.
I hope you enjoy this blog and find it useful. I began this blog as a seminary student in order to have a place where I could share things I was learning. Now it is largely used as a place where I can share materials from my ministry at Centerpoint. Occasionally I also post book reviews for InterVarsity Press because I am a reviewer with them. If you would like to have a fuller view of my ministry samples and find some of my other Social Media links I encourage you to visit my website www.tonystiff.com. Thank you for reading and following my journey here.
